Missing

Almost every family, at least in Russia, had “lost people” - missing people, disappeared in prisons and camps, died under occupation, disappeared in combat. There were people whose memory was deliberately erased from the family: divorced, repressed, “inconvenient” family members, half-brothers and sisters, biological parents. The family history would be incomplete without their names! Sometimes it is the “missing” people or those “torn out” from the family that can be your parents, grandparents, or closest blood relatives. Sometimes they are the center that connects many family ties together.
