And after all these stories about the partisan liaison Halina—her guiding of the Belgians to the partisans, her complex relations with the German authorities, her denunciations of fellow villagers—Halina’s reports abruptly stopped. Two liaisons, "Soida" and "Luna," were sent to her village to investigate and learned about Halina’s arrest, which was the result of a denunciation to the police. Ironically, the informers were the very family Halina had previously reported on to her superiors. Halina’s subsequent fate remains unknown.

I was in the village of Pristromy, Prilezhskaya volost, and spoke with Anna Kostenievich about Halina’s arrest. I learned how it happened: the Germans approached her deceitfully and took her away to an unknown location. It became clear that Halina had been arrested following a report submitted by Borovsky Ilyuk, born around 1923, under the direction of Tatiana Bartkevich, who was filing her third denunciation against Halina.
